Engineering notes from the field
In this increasingly complex world of tech, generalists don't just survive, they thrive. The generalist picks up new tools, quickly distills the important parts, then mixes in concepts learned from past tools and projects to build novel solutions quickly, lead the market and drive results. It's a powerful combo of skills to have, but doesn't always come naturally. It takes intentional effort, reflection and constant evaluation of tradeoffs.
I started this blog because I think there are possibly some nuggets of wisdom floating around that may help other generalists or aspiring generalists gain an edge. I also started it because I forget more than I remember and at some point I need to be able to look back and say, hey I did achieve something throughout the years of scrambling to meet deadlines and implement visions. I hope you enjoy what you find here and if you do, please share it with others who may also find it useful.
